SAM Hallas has been named as the Bulls' new vice-captain.
The 23-year-old, who recently penned a deal to extend his stay at the club into a fourth season, will back up Steve Crossley who keeps the skipper’s role.
Hallas, a boyhood Bradford fan, said: “It is a massive honour and something I am looking forward to taking on.
“I just want to lead as best I can and play my usual game.
“I have played with a lot of quality, experienced players and I’ve learnt a lot from them over the years.
“Steve is a great captain and if I can help him any way I can I will. It will be a mad feeling leading the side out.”
Hallas succeeds Elliot Minchella and coach John Kear felt he was a great example to the rest of the squad.
Kear said: “I love Sam’s attitude. When he re-signed he said he wasn’t here to fight relegation but get in the play-offs.
“I love that positivity, belief and desire. That is the reason he is vice-captain and that is the reason he will do a great job.”
