Steeton 1
Lower Breck 1
STEETON hung on to earn a creditable 1-1 draw against Lower Breck in a league game at Cougar Park on Tuesday night.
Lower Breck, who are favourites for promotion, almost scored from the kick-off but Jamie Henders was ruled offside.
After Kayle Price missed a chance in the third minute, Steeton took the lead with 11 minutes gone when Price teed up Ben Clarkson, who tapped in to make it 1-0.
Lower Breck had a few more chances in the first half, but could not find the back of the net.
And in the 32nd minute, there was controversial decision as Lower Breck striker Dean Shacklock thought he had equalised but the ball hit the post and rolled across the line before being gathered by Steeton keeper Fletcher Paley.
Early in the second half, Lower Breck continued to create chances and the visitors equalised in 51st minute when a free-kick took a deflection off the wall, hit the post and Stephen Milne was on hand to fire in the rebound.
Lower Breck continued to pressure Steeton with chances that tested Paley, and Steeton hit back with efforts by Toby Jeffrey and Jack Richmond that were gathered by the visitors' keeper.
In the 90th minute, Milne shot from the edge of the area but he was denied by a fantastic save from Paley.
