GREG Abbott has been released from his head of football operations role at Mansfield Town following the Stags' sacking of boss David Flitcroft.
Abbott joined Town just after last Christmas, having left Valley Parade earlier in the season where he had been head of recruitment and then assistant under Michael Collins and David Hopkin at the Bantams.
Flitcroft took charge at Field Mill in March 2018 and led Mansfield to the League Two play-offs but has lost his job following their semi-final defeat to Michael Flynn's Newport County.
The club have confirmed that academy manager John Dempster has been appointed as his immediate replacement.
Along with Abbott, assistant manager Ben Futcher, goalkeeping coach Ian Pledger and performance analyst Dan Ashby have also been let go.
Chairman John Radford insisted the move was made "with the best interests of Mansfield Town Football Club in mind."
