In a week of very few fixtures, the first of the Bradford Sunday Alliance cup finals took place at Manningham Mills as Clayton Albion won village bragging rights.
They got the better of neighbours Royal Clayton 1-0 to lift the Amateur Cup.
After an uninspiring first half, with neither keeper really being tested, the nearest that either team came to scoring was a shot from Albion that cannoned back off the crossbar.
The second half saw both teams going close to breaking the deadlock.
With 15 minutes to go, Albion got the all-important goal after a spell of pressure. Martin Charles hit home from just inside the penalty area to score the only goal of the game.
So Albion claimed the double, having finished top of Division Three, but it was a noble effort from Royal Clayton who reached the final in what is their first season in competitive football.
Meanwhile in the league, while Crossflatts Village were celebrating winning the Premier Division thanks to a 2-1 win at Station Hotel, the bubbly was also flowing at Tyersal, who won the Championship thanks to a 6-2 win
at home to Rattlers.
In Division One FC Queensbury boosted their bid to claim runners-up spot with a 2-0 victory at champions Peacock Bar with goals from Ross Mason and Gary Rhodes.
Eccleshill Lane Ends, who already have second place in the bag in Division Two, romped to a 6-1 win at Great Horton thanks to goals from Andrew Scullion (2), Mathew Belwood, Taylor Thompson Foley and Harvey Tate.
