DALTON Grant is looking forward to kicking on for the rest of the season following a successful return from injury – with the winger scoring a brace against former side Dewsbury Rams last time out.
The winger, who made his season debut in the Coral Challenge Cup tie at Keighley Cougars, scored two first-half tries as Bradford came from behind to defeat West Yorkshire rivals Dewsbury Rams.
The 28-year-old scored 18 tries in 25 appearances last term but a groin injury delayed his start to the current campaign.
Eager to make up for lost time, Grant believes he will benefit from an expansive style of rugby as the tracks dry up – starting with tomorrow's mouth-watering clash with Featherstone Rovers.
“I wanted a big start on my return from injury and got the two tries, I feel fit and hopefully I can kick on and play the rest of the season,” said Grant.
“When you get injured you have to come back and fight for your place and prove yourself and I feel like I have started ok.
“We have players coming back from injury, new players joining the team so everyone has a point to prove which is exciting moving forward.
“I am looking forward to the fast, dry tracks of summer rugby and I feel that is where we are at our best as an expansive team.
“It is the cup this week and Featherstone are a really good team and the chance to possibly play against some of the big players and big teams is a real incentive for both teams.
“Challenge Cup action at Odsal will be great, hopefully with the sun out too – the fans are amazing, loud and proud as always and it kicks off an exciting Easter period.”
