THE Telegraph & Argus has learned that former City player John Hellawell has died, aged 75.
Hellawell, who was born in Keighley, made 48 league appearances for the Bantams between 1963 and 1965, scoring 13 goals.
The inside forward moved on to Rotherham and Darlington before playing one game with Bradford (Park Avenue). He finished his career in non-league with Bromsgrove Rovers.
Hellawell attended St Bede’s with his older brother Mike, a League Cup winner with Birmingham who was capped twice by England and played one first-class cricket game for Warwickshire.
