THACKLEY Under-21s have been struggling at the bottom of the West Riding County FA Development League Division One and their fortunes didn't improve with two cup exits.
The Dennyboys travelled to the Castleford Academy pitch and lost 5-0 against leaders Beeston St Anthony in the Floodlit Trophy.
They followed this up with an Invitational Cup match at York St John's University where they lost 9-3 to Tadcaster Albion i2i ISA Prem Black.
Thackley came up against an energetic Tadcaster team who made it difficult for them to play out from the back.
They were heading for a 3-0 deficit at half-time, but Zackaray Sangster scored just before the break. A change of tactics saw Thackley level the score at 3-3 with goals from Darwin King and another from Sangster.
With 10 minutes to go, Thackley's Kayden Allen received his marching orders and he saw his side fall apart as they conceded six goals.
Thackley boss Nathan Priestley said: "Fitness was a key factor in the end and we played against a very organised Tadcaster team."
The U21 match between Brighouse Town and Glasshoughton Welfare was postponed due to an unplayable pitch.
Likewise, the Northern Alliance U19 League game between Bradford (Park Avenue) and Shelley was off due to waterlogging at Horsfall Stadium.
