BRADFORD achieved significant team and individual success in the West Yorkshire Primary School cross country finals at Temple Newsam.
Over 1200 children took part in the event and involved teams from across all districts of West Yorkshire, including Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale, after qualifying through regional finals.
The weather was truly worthy of cross country running – rain, rain and more rain, making running quite treacherous yet the pupils ploughed on regardless.
Baildon Church School and Eldwick both scooped two team medals apiece, with Baildon's Year 4 boys crowned West Yorkshire champions and their Year 6 girls claiming silver, while Eldwick's Year 3 girls finished second and their Year 6 boys took home bronze.
There was a wealth of fantastic individual performances too, with runners from Harden, Low Ash, Birkenshaw, East Morton, Oxenhope and Eldwick all qualifying to represent West Yorkshire in the national finals.
