CROSSFLATTS Village rolled on relentlessly in their quest for a league and cup double in the Bradford Sunday Alliance Football League at the weekend.
Village secured a 5-2 victory at home to former champions West Bowling, which saw them leapfrog Westwood Park into top spot in the Premier Division after the former leaders lost 3-0 to Station Hotel.
Bowling were the ones ahead at the start when a cross by Kenny Tafireyi was flicked on by Joe Jagger into the path of Paul Hague who calmly scored from close range.
The visitors tended to overplay at times though and Crossflatts advantage of this.
First of all Lewis Morgan stole the ball and scored, then Colin Schofield increased their lead just before half time to grab a 2-1 lead heading into the break.
In the second half Crossflatts began to boss the game and went further ahead when full back Luke Richardson got forward and scored.
But after seventy two minutes it looked as if the comeback was on when Bowling made it 3-2 through a 35-yard hit from top scorer Joe Jagger.
In response though, Crossflatts brought on the leagues leading scorer Mick Garnett and he didn't disappoint scoring a brace in the last nine minutes to take the game beyond Bowling.
Olympic are hot on their tails though, pumping 10 goals past relegation candidates Ventus Yeadon Celtic United to keep themselves within four points of the new leaders.
It was also goals galore for promotion and title hopefuls Wrose Bull in the Championship.
They didn't quite manage ten at home to Rattlers First but instead put nine past the ninth-placed side.
Wrose will have found inspiration in the knowledge that a win would send them second with Keighley Town not playing and having a much superior goal difference.
There was double delight for three of the home side's players - Lee Cookson, Declan Dunne, and top scorer Andy Howland all bagged braces.
Cookson managed two despite only playing 44 minutes after coming on as a substitute early in the second half.
Wrose's other goalscorers included Connor Halogon and Adam Medley.
Tyersal Sunday were also in action in the Championship, beating AFC Titans First away from home to keep within touching distance of the top three, with games in hands.
There was a top-of-the-table clash in Division One when Beldon Oddies First hosted Bradford Moor.
Second trumped third as Bradford Moor ran out 3-2 winners in what was a tight affair.
In another high scoring affair in the division, it was as expected between leaders Peacock Bar and hosts Eccleshill Punjab.
The visitors won 4-1 to maintain a five point gap at the top with the season entering its final stages.
In the basement division, title challengers White Hart beat A.F.C. Undercliffe by eight goals to two at home.
Aron Heywood got a hat-trick, which was supplemented by a brace for substitute John Selby.
There was a goal apiece from Rob Coulter, Kristian Selby and Cameron Brewster for the home side.
