BRADFORD side TVR United bounced back to winning ways in the West Riding County Amateur Football League.
After two successive home defeats, their double game-in-hand advantage on leaders Golcar was gone leaving them seven points adrift of the Huddersfield-based side.
But, a 7-3 victory over visitors Ovenden West Riding at the weekend at least keeps them apace.
TVR had four before the break courtesy of Danny Hussain, Asif Iqbal and Ashiq Iqbal, with top scorer Faisal Shabir rounding the half off for the home side with a goal on 35 minutes.
Asif Iqbal added to his tally in the second half, with the other two goals coming from substitute Jamal Mahboob and Waleed Raja.
Ovenden's goals came thanks to a Thomas Boyle brace and one from Callum Blezard.
Despite TVR keeping a slender grip on Golcar with their victory, the leaders took another step towards retaining their Premier Division title when they beat their hosts Lower Hopton 6-0.
The score line was flattering towards the visitors who for much of the first half had to defend deep, as Hopton allowed goal scoring chances to go begging.
In the end they paid the price for poor finishing as the Prem's leading scorer Buddy Cox did what he does best, hitting a brace for Golcar and taking his haul to 45 goals for the season.
Doran Jordan was also on hand with a double, with Alex Hallam and James Buckley bagging one each as well.
Golcar are now only two goals shy of a century for the season, with four games left to play.
Steeton Reserves had to settle for a point in a mid-table clash at home to Route One Rovers.
They were leading at the break thanks to a first half strike from Jack Richmond, but couldn't hold onto their advantage come the second period.
Route One Rovers' Jordan Dimuka bagged a goal to end the game at 1-1.
In a battle between the division's two worst sides, it was Lepton Highlanders who came out on top against second-bottom PFC.
The Highlanders 4-2 away win was only their second victory of the season.
Max Mallinson (with two), Jacob Mulhall and James Keenan came good for the visitors, while Mohammed Zubar Khan and Sheraz Mahmood were on target for losers PFC.
