IN THE West Riding County FA U21 Development Cup, Brighouse Town defeated Huddersfield YMCA 1-0.
Brighouse began the match well but there were few chances as both defences dominated.
Just before half-time, the Huddersfield back four made a huge mistake which allowed the Town striker Jack Normanton a clear run on goal - a chance he gleefully took.
The second half was once again a tale of both defences on top of their game.
Brighouse assistant manager Barry Thomas said: "This cup tie was evenly matched with very little to choose between both sides. But the one mistake divided the teams and enabled us to win the match."
The U21 game between Liversedge and Campion was postponed due to an unfit pitch at Clayborn.
