Former Bantam Craig Midgley has headed Down Under.
The 31-year-old striker left Farsley Celtic to join Australian outfit Manly United in the New South Wales Premier League, making an eye-catching debut against Marconi.
Midgley came through the Valley Parade youth system, signing pro under Lennie Lawrence at 18. But he was chiefly used as a substitute, scoring one league goal, before joining Hartlepool in 1998.
Midgley left Victoria Park for Halifax and spent five seasons at the Shay before linking up with former City team-mate Lee Sinnott at Farsley.
But he missed out on their Conference North play-off final win in May after agreeing to join Manly.
Midgley is hoping his move to Australia will eventually open the door for a job in coaching or management after studying for all the necessary qualifications.
