THE overnight downturn in the weather wiped out all but two of the scheduled West Riding County Amateur league games.
Normally the 'All Weather' 3G and 4G playing surfaces escape all but the worst of conditions, but the Thornton Recreation Centre decided not to allow the use of their facility.
The decision was made due to the surrounding footpaths and car parking facility being frozen under the snow.
This meant the Toller FC v Ryburn United fixture could not go ahead.
One game that was played on a 4G surface was at Bradford University, where PFC hosted Littletown.
This was PFC's first game in three weeks and their lack of game time told come the end of the match, with Littletown running out 4-2 winners.
But, it could have been a very different outcome if PFC had pushed on in the second half after going into the break at 1-1.
Three goals in 45 minutes for Littletown put an end to any hope of an upset though.
Joe Jagger was on target for them with two goals, complimented by one each for Paddy Sykes and Dave Wright.
Sykes (22 goals) and Jagger (33) occupy two of the top three league goalscorer spots, but Golcar United's Buddy Cox - on 39 for the season - will take some catching at this stage.
Ben McCardle and Shazad Ahmed were on the scoresheet for PFC, who remain near the bottom of the Premier Division table.
Littletown, on the other hand, leapfrog Lower Hopton into third and keep a grip on leaders Golcar, who sit 10 points ahead but have played two games more than Littletown.
Things won't be any easier this weekend either for PFC, as they host a local derby against second-placed TVR United.
It was high fives all round for Route One Rovers at league strugglers Ovenden West Riding after a comprehensive 5-2 put them into sixth, a point above Steeton Reserves.
There was special joy for Sinmi Oyebanji who netted a treble for the visitors, with Irfan Afzal contributing a brace.
It's a much needed win for Rovers, after three losses on the bounce in the league before Saturday's victory.
Nathan Sloane and Jamie Keegan got a second half goal each to provide some form of consolation for Ovenden.
The Halifax based side remain second bottom, with four league defeats in their last five, despite going all last season without losing a game.
