THIS weekend's West Riding County Amateur Football League fixtures saw two local sides suffer damning defeats.
Bradford based TVR United travelled to Premier Division leaders Golcar United, with the confidence that they were the only side to have taken three points off the Huddersfield team so far this season.
But, their 3-2 victory back at the start of the season in August proved to be a one off as Golcar, without their leading scorer Buddy Cox for the second successive game, found the perfect replacement in Doran Jordan.
Jordan has previous played for fellow Huddersfield teams, Newsome, Britannia Sports and DRAM Community FC, and used all this experience to his advantage in only is fourth game for Golcar, rattling in seven goals.
A further goal for Golcar from Jonathon Newiss will leave TVR nursing their wounds after an 8-0 trouncing.
The second high-goal affair came in the game between P FC and Ryburn United.
This one was always set to be a mismatch, with 13 points separating the two and P FC conceding more than double the amount of goals than Ryburn.
P FC were 3-1 down come half-time, but things were only to get worse, with Ryburn netting another four in the final 45 to extinguish any idea of a comeback for the Bradford side.
George Turner and Chris Silkstone both netted twice for Ryburn, alongside goals for Reece Uttley, Brad Tynan and Jacob Furness, to extend the team's unbeaten run to seven league games.
PF C's consolation came from Theo Budjra.
Route One Rovers had fourth-placed Littletown visit Esholt on Saturday with the knowledge that a win would help drag themselves closer to the visitors, who they also have a game in hand on.
It wasn't to be, as Littletown ran out comfortable 4-1 winners, despite a close fought first half in which Shoab Iqbal netted first for the Esholt side.
Paddy Sykes, Joe Jagger, Dave Wright and Sam Jordan score for Littletown.
Steeton Reserves posted a 3-2 home win against Toller FC, with two goals from Greg Hudson and one by Sam Fox.
Kamran Khan bagged both goals for Toller FC.
Bradford Olympic beat Lepton Highlanders 2-1 at home, after the visitors put up an impressive performance with only eleven players to call on.
Daanyaal Butt and James Chadwick netted for Olympic, whilst Max Mallinson was on target for The Highlanders.
TVR United's big loss meant Lower Hopton's narrow 3-2 victory against league struggles Ovenden West Riding took them into second place.
Ovenden were ahead early doors with two strikes from Gareth Gaukroger, who also spurned the chance of a hat-trick when he failed to convert from the penalty spot.
Gaukroger was made to rue his missed opportunity when Hopton's Josh Cooper and Lee Turner added to James Heeley's first half goal.
