EMBASSY Yeadon C finished the first half of the season in pole position in Division Two of the Bradford Table Tennis League.
That was following their derby victory over promotion rivals Embassy Yeadon D as Tony Boyd turned in his best performance of the season for the leaders with a match-winning treble.
He needed five games to beat both Rod Robertson and Chris Sanderson as Embassy Yeadon C won the first five matches. And he sealed victory with another five-game success against Peter Clarkson.
Ian Marshall won two and Jacek Dabrowski took one as Embassy Yeadon C won 7-3 to stay one point clear of Hermits C.
These two have opened up a clear lead over Embassy Yeadon D and Hermits B.
There is an intriguing three-way battle at the top of Division Four.
Baildon D will start the second half of the season in top spot after a comfortable victory at Thornbury B.
John Jennison was unbeaten for Baildon with Jerry Harkawy and Shirley Toulmin adding two each in an 8-2 victory.
Hermits I and Unity C are just three points behind. The former were given a scare against lowly Hermits K.
John Rawnsley and Anthony Burrow both won two as the match was even at 4-4. Then Hermits I clinched a 6-4 success as Stewart Varley and George Raine won two each. Mick Raine won one and joined Varley to secure victory in the doubles.
