DESPITE having lost four of their last six games, Silsden manager Danny Forrest is pleased with his players' attitude and is keeping faith in the squad to return to winning ways.
The Cobbydalers are looking to bounce back from Tuesday's 5-0 defeat at Congleton Town as they prepare to visit Squires Gate in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division this weekend.
He said: "It is slightly disappointing for us after the start we made to the season where we were pushing for the top four.
"However, I am not complaining as, although we want to be successful at this level, we knew there were going to be challenges for us along the way."
Forrest explained how his Silsden squad is a mixed bag of experience at different levels of amateur football and for some of them it is a new test, having won promotion to the top flight last season.
He added: "We are maybe looking to add one or two new players in the coming weeks, but we don’t want to make any drastic changes as we feel that with the players we have got we are destined for better things.
"We are working with the players week in week out and building with an aim towards success.’’
Silsden are sixth in the Premier Division and face a run of games leading through a busy Christmas period, including a Boxing Day clash with rivals Barnoldswick.
Forrest will take it game-by-game and said: "We know a couple of lads are carrying knocks which may mean we do need to rotate the squad over the Christmas period, but we will assess this at the time if required.
"If we do pick up any injuries we are confident that we have the squad to replace them without weakening the starting 11."
Saturday's opponents Squires Gate are only two points behind them with two games in hand.
The last time the two sides met was the first game of the season at the Cobbydale Construction Stadium, which resulted in a 1-1 draw, with Forrest himself netting the equaliser in the 85th minute.
Striker Aidan Kirby is set to return to the squad. Forrest said this will be a big boost as Kirby has been a key player since arriving last season.
Defender Reece Lyndon could be a doubt as he picked up a hamstring injury in Tuesday night’s game.
