WESTWOOD Park moved into second spot of the Bradford Sunday Alliance Premier Division after beating West Bowling 3-2 in a see-saw encounter at Emsleys Rec.
Bowling went behind in the first minute when Danny Farrar pounced on a mistake but the hosts started to grow into the game.
When Curtis McMahon's cross was headed goalward by Joe Jagger, Westwood's keeper Tom Metcalfe pulled off a superb save.
However, Bowling equalised after a flowing move which saw Paul Hague cross for Jagger to rifle home with his left foot.
The hosts continued on the front foot in the second half as Jagger was denied by the diving leg of Jordan Kellett. Bowling's man of the match Kenny Tafireyi was causing problems for Westwood but they took the lead again when Farrar sent Bowling's keeper the wrong way from the spot.
After 60 minutes the hosts equalised once more when Jagger's free-kick was headed home by Adam Jordan.
Metcalfe again thwarted Jagger, pushing his shot around the post, before Westwood grabbed the winner with Tom Pointer's shot deflecting in off a defender.
Sandy Lane were beaten 3-1 at Bolton Woods but remain eight points ahead of cellar dwellers Thornton United, who did not play in the league last weekend.
Sandy Lane went in front on ten minutes with a penalty but Woods equalised eight minutes later with a long shot by Jordan Buck.
They took the lead with a goal from Andy McHugh five minutes from half-time and extended their advantage when Scott Mortimer scored a third in the 70th minute.
The score could have been very different without the heroics of Alex Stephenson, the Bolton Woods keeper.
Leaders Keighley Town suffered their fifth defeat of the season in the Championship when they were beaten 2-1 at home to Northern.
Daniel O'Donnell and Lee Smith were on the mark for the third-placed visitors, Smith finding the net only six minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Both Wrose Bull and Northern are within two points of Keighley - and both have four matches in hand on them.
Peacock Bar moved to the top of Division One when they beat FC Dog and Gun 4-1, replacing previous leaders Bradford Moor on goal difference.
