IN ONE of their best performances of the season to date, Otley comfortably got the better of third-placed Hinckley with a 29-14 home win.
It put the Cross Greeners fifth in National League Two North and was their fourth five-point victory on the trot.
The last time Otley have won four consecutive matches, while getting four tries in each match as well, was when they escaped relegation from National One in April 2010.
Joe Graham crashed over under the posts to put Otley ahead early on and Ben Smith converted.
They extended their lead when a loose back pass in Hinckley’s 22 was seized upon by Stephen Nolson, who ran over to score and Smith added the extras.
Hinckley reduced the deficit through a Ryan Hough try but Otley had the last word of the half with a penalty at the scrum, which Smith slotted over.
Alex Beaumont took an aerial kick in his own half which Otley moved forward for Graham's second try.
Hinckley continued to test Otley but the hosts got their fourth try after solid work in the scrum pushed the visitors back and Ben Magee scored in the clubhouse corner.
Hinckley hit back with a try from Gareth Tuner with nine minutes to go, Joe Wilson getting his second conversion, but it was not enough.
