BULLS have announced that half-back Dane Chisholm has agreed a new one-year contract to stay at Odsal.

The Australian has committed his 2019 future to Bradford, for whom he played an integral role in their promotion back to the Championship last season.

News of his signature comes just two days after fellow half-back Joe Keyes signed a new two-year deal with John Kear's side.

Chisholm was short-listed for the League One player of the year, just being pipped to the award by York's Connor Robinson.

Head coach Kear was thrilled that Chisholm has agreed to another season with the club.

He said: “I am delighted Dane has committed to the club. He is a very important member of our squad and his signing just about completes our recruitment and retention for the 2019 season.

"This is the final piece in the jigsaw and we believe we have put together a squad capable of challenging in the Championship next year.”

The 28-year-old, who has played four Test Matches for France having qualified through his mother and grandparents, joined Bulls for a second time in May 2017 from Sheffield Eagles.

He made an instant impact, scoring a fantastic solo try against Hull KR but suffered a knee injury which kept him out for the rest of the season.

But Chisholm, who has made a total of 40 appearances for the club, returned to full fitness in the 2018 campaign in which he scored 16 tries and kicked 115 goals.
