BRADFORD'S Chris Mordue was runner-up in the £5,300 Brighouse Classic, sponsored by Damart.
He fell 21-7 in the final to Preston's Simon Coupe, a multiple Waterloo Open winner and 2017 England No 1.
Coupe played superbly throughout the evening but only just managed to overcome Stuart King (Bradford) 21-19 in his semi-final.

Eccleshill Bowling Club are re-staging the Harry Wise Trophy on Sunday (10am).
The event, which was postponed on July 29 (due to flooding) is open to Airedale & Wharfedale Saturday or Monday leagues' Third and Fourth Division players.

Gary Whelan (07843 676956 or gpwhelan@tinyworld.co.uk) has put out a last call for teams to enter the Guiseley Floodlit Four-Person Winter League, which starts on Monday and runs until November 15.
Chosen nights can be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, which are both now full, (6.30pm or 8pm), and a maximum of eight teams per night are allowed.
The ideal would be four groups of eight teams, with Group A on Mondays, Group B on Tuesdays, Group C on Wednesdays and Group D on Thursdays, with seven matches overall per team.
Finals week will start on Monday, November 19 and entry fee is £50 per team, with a maximum of eight bowlers to be registered.
There are cash prizes for the overall winners, runners-up, semi-finalists and group winners.
The first qualifying round for the Gibbs & Dandy Farsley Winter Pairs begins on Saturday, October 6, with other qualifying dates on Sunday, October 7 and the weekends of October 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28, with the finals on Sunday, November 4.
Entry fee is £20, all sessions start at 11am and prize-money is £2,560, with £800 going to the winners, £400 to the runners-up, £200 to the losing semi-finalists and £100 to the losing quarter-finalists, with those being beaten in the last 16 getting £70.
