National League Two North: Sedgley Park 40 Otley 10
OTLEY were unable to stem Sedgley Park in the second half, with the home side's tries taking the game beyond the visitors.
Nevertheless the final score does not represent the effort the visitors put in, and while they opened and finished the scoring, they should have more points – especially in the first half.
Otley began the game much the better of the two sides, dominating both territory and possession.
This constant pressure told when they pushed a defender off the pitch, setting up a line-out in the Tigers' 22. Jack Scott-Paul grabbed the ball and the pack's catch and drive put Adam Malthouse over.
However, the hosts got onto the board after 13 and 25 minutes with tries from Jamie Harrison and Sam Lowthion, both of which were converted.
Undaunted, the visitors continued to have chances, with Paul Petchey and Ben Magee going close down the right-hand flank.
At the end of the half, Otley were camped on the home side's line but were left frustrated.
The Tigers were straight out of the blocks in the second half, with Lowthion getting his second try four minutes in.
This was followed by three further tries, which took the game beyond Otley.
The visitors did get a try at the end, working the ball across the width of the pitch and Sedgley's defence before Oli Goss's outstretched arm brought some consolation.
Kieran Wilyman made his first league appearance for the visitors and was named as their man of the match.
