After the resurrection of the Bradford Teenage Open Handicap and Bradford Junior Open Handicap this year, another event making a return in 2018 is the Mixed Pairs Merit.
A tweak to the Bradford Van Transport-backed event on Sunday, September 9 at Peel Park (10.30am) is that only one player per pair has to be a member of a club in the Bradford Association.
Entry fee is £10 per pair and entries can be made via the usual methods – Facebook, Beighton Bowler or mobile
(07930-710999).
The ideal number of entrants is 16 pairs, and entries will be taken up to the evening before.
Entries are also being taken for the Ben Ramsden Merit, which is also trying out a new format this year, with four greens being used on Monday-Thursday September 10-13, with the finals on Friday, September 14 at Spen Victoria, all starting at 6.45pm.
Venues are Eccleshill (Monday), Littlemoor (Tuesday), Pudsey (Wednesday) and Hove Edge (Thursday), and no home bowlers are allowed on the respective qualifying nights.
A total of 16 bowlers per green will be allowed, with two qualifiers per night, and any Spen Vic bowler qualifying will be handicapped.
Entries will be via the same methods as for the Mixed Pairs Merit or to A Mellor, Flat 5, 1 Selborne Terrace, Bradford, BD9 4NJ.
