KAI Bruenker’s first goal for City is likely to bring the house down.
And the cheers will also reverberate on the eastern edge of the Black Forest in Germany.
Bruenker has become a bit of a cult figure among Valley Parade fans for his honest endeavour and hard work – even if that opening score has so far eluded him.
But it’s not only those who reside on the Kop that will be willing the ball into the net for the lanky striker.
Back in his home town of Villingen, Bruenker enjoys his own personal supporters’ club.
He said: “My first club was in a small village and they filled the clubhouse with 50 people just watching the game I was playing against Shrewsbury last season.
“A lot of my old team-mates also watch the games on the website. I have lots of pictures now from friends who buy a Bradford shirt because of me!
“It makes me really hungry to do well. I’m always like that as a player but I will keep working and I’m sure that the chance will come.”
Bruenker had his first proper run in the City side under Simon Grayson towards the end of the campaign, playing five games on the bounce before suffering an ankle injury at home to Southend.
He could feel the weight of public backing – and will use that as a spur to try to make his mark this season.
“Always when I step into the stadium at Valley Parade it gives me a really good feeling when I hear the people shouting my name,” added Bruenker.
“It motivates me a lot and I want to give that back to the fans with a goal. That would be great.
“I also hope my family is in the stadium so that I can do it for them as well.”
Bruenker is optimistic that the all-change Bantams can get themselves back in the mix at the right end of League One after falling away so disappointingly before.
His belief in the team’s chances has been strengthened by the recent recruitment, especially the trio of Jack Payne, George Miller and Sean Scannell.
“They are really good signings,” he said. “It’s really good for the team when you have people who have played at a top level.
“I think these three guys can change games and hopefully they can get us more wins. I feel we can do really well in the league this season.”
