FORMER runner-up Wayne Ditchfield has been handed a tough draw in the first qualifying round of the £5,300 Damart Brighouse Classic tomorrow night at Brighouse Sports Club (6.30).

The Eccleston bowler meets South Yorkshire star Chris Brown (Woodlands).

A field of 128 are competing for the £1,000 first prize, with the finals night being held in September.

The Aire-Wharfe League's Harry Wise Trophy, sponsored and organised by Gary Nellist in memory of his father Ralph, will be held at Eccleshill on Sunday (10am).

The Merit is only open to Saturday or Monday Divisions Three and Four bowlers who are registered in the Aire-Wharfe League, and players must have played two league games to qualify.

Entry fee is £6 and handicaps will apply.

The winner will receive £90, the runner-up £50 and the losing semi-finalists £25.
