THE title party started early for the Bradford Veterans second team and with the pressure off, they were able to cruise to an 8-2 victory in sets over a hapless Huddersfield 2 side.
Captain Richard Aitken had won every single game that he had played this season and was the key contributor to the team's 100% winning record going into the fixture.
Doncaster were guaranteed promotion having finished with 12 points from seven matches but Bradford, who had amassed 12 points before this final fixture, were in the happy position of needing just one set to become Division Two champions.
Andy Braithwaite won the opening match in a thrilling five-set tussle and with the title secured, Aitken and Shamir Bose stole the show with some fabulous play.
Both men won two singles matches apiece and they combined to win in straight sets in their doubles match.
Aitken's three victories on the night meant that he finished the season with a perfect record, 21 wins from 21. Bose could consider himself more than satisfied with his results too, with 18 victories from 21 overall.
Braithwaite and Fazal Hussain have shared duties in the number three spot as the Veterans second team secured the title with a great team effort.
In the Bradford League, Hermits A won 6-4 in a tight encounter against Yeadon A and it was the same outcome in the Burton Cup, with Hermits taking a 5-3 victory.
They were not so lucky in their other Burton Cup match though, slipping to a 5-3 defeat against Embassy Police A.
Baildon E crushed Hermits I in the Tony Theobould Trophy, winning 431-300.
