SEMI-finalists, and probably losing quarter-finalists, from the Yorkshire County Parks Merit on Good Friday (March 30) at Hove Edge WMC (10am) will qualify for the British Parks Individual Merit.
The latter event will be held on Sunday, August 12 at Irlam Steel, Greater Manchester and, understandably, the Yorkshire Merit, which is sponsored by John Summers (Family Butcher) has attracted a quality field.
Prize-money at Hove Edge is £700, with £280 to the winner, £140 to the runner-up, £70 to the losing semi-finalists and £35 to the losing semi-finalists.
Home bowlers will be handicapped.

Twenty-six of the 32 places have been filled in early for Skipton Craven Bowling Club's one-day competition on Sunday, April 8 (10am), which is a replacement for the event that was postponed last Sunday.

The Yorkshire County Parks Bowls Association are holding a ladies' individual merit event on Sunday, May 6 at
Cleckheaton Sports Club (10am), with the Vera Lucas Plate at stake.
Entry fee is £5, restricted to members of clubs who are affiliated to the YCPBA, and potential entrants should make a cheque payable to YCPBA and send it to Jack Summers at 1 Druids Street, Clayton, Bradford BD14 6RJ by Sunday, April 29.
