THE Bradford Closed Championships at Keighley Table Tennis Centre were a personal triumph for Shahriar Masoudi.
He swept all before him, carrying off three titles, with Embassy Police team-mate John Chew being his victim in two finals.
Masoudi came through a testing five-game semi-final in the men's singles against Phil Cawser (Dewsbury Tog), while Chew overcame Richard Aitken (Hermits).
Chew won the first game in the final and was two points from a 2-0 lead at 9-9 in the second – but Masoudi took the last two points to level at 1-1 and powered through the next two games 11-6 11-4 to take his first singles title.
The pair also contested the veterans' final, where Masoudi was a commanding winner in straight games. They then teamed up in the men's doubles and were 3-0 winners over Jonaton Caspi (Tog) and Richard Abrahams (Pudsey).
RESULTS – Consolation singles: winner Shamir Bose (Hermits), runner-up Les Baker (Pudsey). Handicap singles: winner Peter Holbrook (Hermits), runner-up Glen Ellis (Hermits). Ladies' singles: winner Zarnab Jamal (Hermits), runner-up Linda Sanderson (Pudsey).
