Farsley Celtic were due to play Huddersfield Town tonight but the Terriers asked for the game to be cancelled.

Farsley manager Lee Sinnott got a call from his opposite number Andy Ritchie and the pair mutually agreed to shelve it.

"So close to the start of the season for both clubs I took Andy's concerns on board," said Sinnott.

"We had the option of fixing up a game against someone else but I decided that we would be better working on tactics and having a full-scale training game involving all the squad players for a full match."

Farsley are at home to Stafford Rangers on Saturday, their first game in the Blue Square Premier after being promoted from the Conference North last May.
