Pontefract Collieries 1 Silsden 2
Two first-half goals steered Silsden to another pre-season friendly victory at Pontefract Collieries tonight but it was more important that 18 players gained significant time on the pitch.
"We made a lot of changes, six outfield substitutes and different keepers in both halves so I'm very happy with what we got out of the game," said Cobbydalers boss Paul Schofield.
Andy King opened the scoring after just five minutes with a poacher's goal following a good move.
Danny McNulty provided the initial cross, Graham Holmes' shot was parried and Andy Holden chipped the rebound back to King.
Holden himself grabbed the second, midway through the first half, thanks to an assist from Lee Reilly.
His run had the home defence back-pedalling and his pass spilt them allowing Holden a shot on goal.
Pontefract pulled a goal back eight minutes from time.
