OVERNIGHT snow, rain and frost wiped out all but five of the scheduled fixtures in the West Riding County Amateur League.
Route One Rovers' and Littletown’s grounds in the Premier Division were deemed playable, and Route One Rovers capitalised on their good fortune to play at Esholt, strengthened their fifth place with a 6-1 home win over DRAM Community.
Hasan Ali and Waheed Khan doubled up with two goals each, while Shoab Iqbal and Atik Khan added the others, with Dram’s consolation being an own goal.
A first-half goal from Adam Stephenson secured the points for last seasons champions Lower Hopton at Littletown.
Salts Reserves took their shooting boots with them for their Division One game at Overthorpe Sports Club.
Andy Saddowskyj, who led the way with five goals, was assisted by one apiece from Oliver Hulme, Jonny Brian and Ryan Whitfield in their 8-1 trouncing of their hosts, for whom Tim Clark netted a consolation.
TVR United and West Horton, who both play home games on artificial grass, gained no advantage as their respective opponents, Tingley Athletic and Hunsworth, returned with the spoils.
Tingley won 4-3 at Zara Sports Centre as Scott Austin (2), Jack Kanyana and Charles Gecei–Holt netted for them, while Asif Iqbal, Iftikar Iqbal and Faisal Shabir replied for TVR.
Following a goalless draw the previous weekend at Hunsworth, West Horton and Hunsworth met again, this time at Bradford University's 4G pitch, and Hunsworth triumphed 6-2 with strikes from Jack Cooper (2), Oliver Durkin, Richard Normally, Charles Taylor and an own goal, with Zayn Ali scoring both West Horton's goals.
