Albion Sports and Thackley both have home fixtures in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division this weekend, and if the Albion Lions slip up, the Dennyboys could leapfrog them in the table.
Thackley are one of three clubs in lower mid-table on 20 points but the other two have games in hand on them.
Chris Reape’s men, however, are just one point worse off than Albion.
The Dennyboys face a tough test though as they host Wayne Benn’s seventh-placed Hemsworth Miners' Welfare, who have their eyes on fifth spot this weekend.
Albion’s inconsistent season rolled on with a midweek defeat at home to Division One side Campion in the West Riding County Cup, albeit on penalties.
They will be expected to bounce back from that with a home win, which could lift them back into the top ten as their visitors are second from bottom Harrogate Railway Athletic.
Liversedge, who are a lowly 17th, are the only one of the three top-tier clubs to be on the road and they face a stern test against fifth-placed Maltby Main.
Eccleshill United are the form team in Division One after climbing to third, and they will be looking to keep the pressure on the top two as they travel to second from bottom Retford United.
The hosts are four points below the current safety mark and have played two more games than the two clubs immediately above them.
The Eagles are third on goal difference only after a midweek victory and could climb into the automatic promotion places with a win.
Campion may have won through to the County Cup quarter-finals with Wednesday’s win at Albion but they are seeking an improvement in league form after dropping out of the play-off places.
James Bicknell’s men are currently seventh as they welcome fourth from bottom Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
Silsden also face a struggling side in the Hallmark Security League Division One as they host a Daisy Hill side currently in the relegation places, four points below the cut-off line and with the worst goal difference in the division.
The Cobbydalers have an eight-point cushion at the summit and are still boasting a 100 per cent record after 15 wins from 15 starts.
