THE Yorkshire Amateur League are in rude health as they enter their 90th anniversary season.
They welcomed six new clubs at their recent annual meeting, including three from Bradford and one from Pudsey.
Athletico and Girlington have transferred from the Spen Valley League, while Tyersal have moved from the West Riding County Amateur League.
Meanwhile, Pudsey-based Prospect have switched from Sunday football, as have Leeds-based Wharfedale Triangle League champions Sky Bet, while County Amateur side Tingley Athletic's additional team will also be joining.
The number of clubs is now 52 and the 87 teams will be competing across seven divisions, starting on September 2, with the regular Saturday kick-off time of 2pm.
Meanwhile, the league has a new president, with Gary Lovelace of Leeds Modernians replacing Dr Stephen Ledger, and have also appointed Lewis Elliott as respect officer as part of their commitment to FA Charter Standard League accreditation.
Elliott's remit will be to implement the FA Respect strategy that allows players, referees, other officials and spectators the opportunity to enjoy the game.
The league are also developing their Facebook and Twitter sites.
