CITY fans will be hoping that Charlie Wyke is recording the Wembley highlights tonight.
Because that will mean that the Bantams have got the right result against Millwall.
The striker confessed that he only bothers watching the game again if it has gone well – and he’s scored.
Wyke said: “I don’t really watch the highlights too much. It’s only if (former club) Carlisle or Bradford are on.
“My Dad tries to record the games but I don’t let him. I tell him ‘only if I score’.
“It would be nice to watch the final again later though, because that means we’ve been promoted!”
Wyke admits that he still has to pinch himself about how far he has come this season, scoring 25 goals and securing a £250,000 move to League One. Now he stands one win away from playing in the Championship.
For a player previously used to scrapping at the wrong end of the table with Hartlepool, it makes a dramatic change.
“If you’d said at the start that I’d be playing at Wembley, I wouldn’t have believed you with the way seasons have been going in the past,” he added.
“I’ve had a good season and hopefully can top it off with promotion.”
