A MID-TABLE West Yorkshire League Division One clash between East End Park and Wyke Wanderers ended up as a 3-3 draw.
Wyke struggled against their more physical opponents and found themselves behind early on.
Wanderers tried to respond but found themselves 2-0 down before half-time, leading to Wyke being read the riot act during the interval.
The Wyke players responded well, pulling a goal back via Cameron Day, and goalkeeper Brad Emerson then did well to save a Park penalty.
Wanderers equalised through Sibu Moyo's fine 30-yard shot but Park restored their lead.
Wyke then dominated, however, and they were rewarded for their efforts when Karl Fawcett scored at the far post.
Ian Bell was man of the match for Wyke, and their secretary Dave Ryan said: “We could have won the match late on but it was a good point after our poor performance in the first half."
In Division Two, Baildon Trinity Athletic drew 1-1 at Ripon City.
With two matches left, Baildon find themselves third from bottom.
Field Reserves moved up to third in Alliance Division One after their 2-0 win at Boroughbridge Reserves. On target for Field were Glyn Hirst and substitute Liam Lambert.
Wyke Wanderers Reserves suffered a 4-1 home defeat against Carlton Athletic Reserves.
A poor first half from a Wyke team struggling to field 11 left them 3-0 behind but they took the game to their opponents more in the second half.
Following a goalmouth scramble, Wyke's Harrison Levy netted with a shot from the edge of the box, but poor marking enabled Carlton to score a fourth goal and seal all three points.
Declan O’Regan was Wyke's man of the match, and they are bottom of the table with nine games to play.
