Another second-half fightback saw Bradford keep their Yorkshire title hopes alive in a 20-16 win at home to Sheffield.

The defending champions were trailing 8-4 after the morning foursomes at Bingley St Ives before winning the singles 16-8.

Bradford have lost 13 of their 18 foursomes this season and captain Tim Wade is at a loss to explain why.

"I am baffled, I really am," he said. "I've changed things round week after week and keep asking people who to put with who but it's just not happening. But once it does we will slaughter somebody."

Only Keighley pair Liam O'Neill and Joe Marshall and Dan Thomas and Karl Curran gained foursomes victories before Bradford won seven out of 12 singles and also gained two halves.

Wade's side already had two 15-9 singles wins under their belt this campaign and he said: "You can tell by the results from the singles how good we are. We won the first four matches and we never looked like losing after that."

He added: "Having traced the records, I think its the first time we've beaten Sheffield twice on the bounce.

"They still have a better points difference than us which could end up counting as an extra point."

Bradford visit surprise leaders York in their next game at Sandburn Hall on July 8.

In other matches, Leeds beat Harrogate at home 25-16, East Riding drew at home to York 18-18, while Teesside's game with Halifax-Huddersfield was abandoned due to flooding.
