STUART McCall singled out keeper Colin Doyle for praise as City moved up to second with a 1-0 win at Chesterfield.
Billy Clarke scored the only goal in a game that the unbeaten Bantams bossed at the Proact Stadium.
But McCall highlighted a superb save from Doyle to deny a free-kick from Kristian Dennis.
He said: “We gave away a couple of cheap free-kicks and from one of them Doyley has made an outstanding save.
“I remember his save at Millwall and another against Bristol Rovers. He seems to have one a game – and they are big saves.
“It’s another clean sheet and he’s played a big part in that.”
Clarke fired home after 26 minutes and City had plenty of opportunities to increase their advantage.
McCall added: “We created lots of chances and made their goalie work. You can’t dominate for 90 minutes but it’s about getting goals when you’re on top.
“Some of the football was a joy to watch – how they played and moved the ball. The players believe in each other.”
