CAMPION took the short trip through Keighley to meet Premier Division rivals Steeton and returned with a thumping 6-2 win in the Taylor's Timber West Riding County Amateur League.
Lee Reilly scored in both halves but third-placed Campion romped to victory with goals from Dempsey Smith (2), Adam Jarrett, Mathew Warden, Craig Nicholl and Steve Hollingworth.
Huddersfield YMCA, favourites for the championship, moved to within a point of leaders Lepton Highlanders with three games in hand after a 7-2 drubbing of visiting Littletown.
The goals were shared between with seven different scorers in Connor Tuff, Lee Bradshaw, Josimar Bradshaw, Daniel Naidole, Mat Mulvihill, Kitson Gayle and Brighton Mugadza, while Joe Jagger netted both consolations.
Joe Pleasance's first-half strike for Salts at Golcar United was little consolation as Dean Sidiq and Chris Cornelly struck to give the hosts a 2-1 victory.
Tyersal, whose defence has leaked well over 100 goals so far this season, were once again put to the sword in a 12-1 defeat to Ovenden West Riding. Dave Worby netted the sole reply to Chris and Martin Woodhouse, who both bagged hat-tricks, Scott Eastwood and Jason Carney with two each, Hayden Kerris and Kevin Megson.
Campion Reserves, who were beaten in a penalty shoot-out in the Bradford FA Cup semi-finals, suffered the same fate in their Division One Cup last-four tie against Newsome.
Campion twice clawed their way back into the game, with Luke Sharpe scoring to take it to extratime after Paul Pike had given Newsome the lead.
Then, following Adam Hill's extra-time goal to edge the game in the hosts' favour, Chris Helliwell equalised for Campion to make it 2-2 and send the game into a penalty shoot-out, which went 6-5 in favour of Newsome.
The other semi-final saw Holmfirth Town take the honours 4-3 against DRAM Community.
The only game in Division One ended with West Horton claiming a 5-2 home win over Steeton Reserves.
Golcar United Reserves clinched second place in Division Two, behind champions Thornton United, with a 4-1 success at Lower Hopton Reserves.
