PREMIER Division leaders Farsley Celtic Juniors' 2-2 draw at Alwoodley showed all that is best about the Yorkshire Amateur League.
Juniors took the lead with a tap-in from Sam Bradley but the tenacious hosts led 2-1 at half-time before the top flight's leading scorer Danny Lyons equalised in the 47th minute in a well-contested second half.
Alwoodley, destined for the top half themselves, felt that they edged the game but Farsley, who have 31 points, were happy with a draw, although it ended their ten-match winning run.
Second-placed Farnley Sports triumphed 2-0 at home to Grangefield Old Boys, ending their four-game unbeaten run.
Grangefield drop two places to seventh, while Farnley are six points behind Farsley with each having played 13 of the 18 games, although Celtic have much the better goal difference.
St Bede's have had an erratic season, despite being sixth in the First Division, and lost 5-1 at Wortley, leading scorer Jordan Northin getting the consolation goal in the second half.
Leaders Calverley United lost 3-1 at Garforth Rangers, despite being 1-0 up at half-time via Chris Coates.
Second-placed Drighlington only drew 1-1 at home to Rothwell Reserves but still have four games in hand and only trail by a point.
Shane Sowden edged Drig ahead in the first half and they should have at least quadrupled that before half-time but found keeper Danny Greaves in stubborn form, paying the penalty by conceding an equaliser as Rothwell dominated the last 25 minutes.
A poor weekend for Grangefield was added to by their reserves. They lost 4-2 at home to Colton Athletic, who thus moved off the bottom of the table.
Grangefield's goals came from a Jack Kitson free-kick and Daniel Cuff's tap-in – but they paid a heavy price for having Darren Dodsworth sent off at 2-2 with ten minutes left, conceding goals in the 86th and 90th minutes.
Second-placed Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves led third-placed visitors Churwell Lions 3-0 at half-time in the Second Division, Alex Gyte netting in the 14th, 26th and 33rd minutes, but then suffered a five-goal second-half salvo.
The game between fourth-placed YMCA and leaders Gildersome Spurs OB, who are two points ahead of Farsley, was postponed as the hosts' ground was unavailable.
Sixth-placed Fairbank United were depleted for their Third Division clash at eighth-placed Woodhouse Moor Meths but still won 3-2.
Hussain Iqbal, from a clearance by his brother Hassan, and Razzaq Ali netted equalisers for the Bradford side before Hussain Iqbal struck a sensational last-ditch winner.
Second-bottom Horsforth St Margaret's Reserves, whose games in hand are being eaten up, lost 3-0 in the Fourth Division to visitors Farnley Sports Reserves, while Drighlington Reserves overcame a physical Dewsbury Rangers Reserves 4-2 in the Fifth Division.
Goals for Drig came from Jordan Brereton, in the first half, and 16-year-old Charlie Leather, Brad O'Donnell and super sub George Horne, with an over-the-shoulder shot, in the second period.
St Bede's Reserves, likely to finish third in the Sixth Division, beat Old Batelians Thirds 5-1 and should have won by a bigger margin.
Goals were bagged by Antony Garner (2) and Steve Thwaites in the first half, then Mark Hayward and Joe Keen in the second.
