Bradford football clubs are invited to enter the national search to find the country's top pub players and teams.

Carling's Pub Football Awards is set to honour some of Britain's least recognised football heroes with an award developed to bring attention to a huge but often underestimated part of the game - pub football.

In the midst of numerous awards focusing on the cream of Premiership talent, these new awards will celebrate some of the overlooked sporting triumphs taking place every weekend in parks across the country.

The inaugural Pub Football Awards will give players, league administrators and fans the opportunity to put forward their colleagues and teams for the following categories: Carling Pub Football Player of the Year; Team of the Year; Manager of the Year; Administrator of the Year plus an award for the Team Most in Need of Help.

The awards accompany the launch of Carling's Pub Football Community, www.carling.com/pubfootball, which will allow players and administrators in Bradford to set up a free website for their team or league, complete with player profiles, a manager's blog and video footage.

Mark Clemmit, BBC Radio Five Live reporter and a member of the judging panel, said: "Every week, hundreds of thousands of pub players turn out for their team because they love the game of football.

"We reckon that they deserve to be recognised so I'd encourage people in Bradford to get their entries in for the inaugural awards".
