FARNLEY Sports climbed to third in the Premier Division as a consequence of their narrow 3-2 victory over Yorkshire Amateur League bogey team Stanningley OB.

They are five points behind leaders Farsley Celtic Juniors with a game in hand, while Stanningley dip to fourth with their scorers being Tom Stewart and Andy Shields. Farnley's goals came from Shane Gaunt's double and a strike from man of the match Carl Manning.

Farsley beat Alwoodley 2-1 to claim a sixth successive victory. They head the table by three points from second-placed Medics, who have played one match more.

It was 1-0 at the interval thanks to a Craig Farrand header, Alwoodley levelling matters when a beautiful whipped cross from the left was bundled home by Geoff Clarkson. Central midfielder Ryan Collett then drove home the winner.

Man of the match for Farsley was shared by Collett and Alex Reid, who moved from his full back position to play for the first time as a central defender.

Grangefield OB drew 1-1 at home Leeds Medics & Dentists to climb a place to seventh.

Grangefield took the lead from a Grant Jackson penalty, given for a mistimed tackle in the 55th minute, before an equaliser arrived in the 70th from Niall Robinson after a terrific run and cross from Dave Emms down the right.
