There were several winners at the club's end-of-season awards dinner and the spread of accolades was welcomed by Terry Dolan.

The manager chose skipper Richard Dunning as the management's player of the year recipient. Keeper Steve Dickinson was named supporters' player of the season, full back Nathan Hay won the club's fair play award while defender Simon Sturdy was voted players' player.

"I wasn't here all season so it was difficult for me to make a decision but I went for the man I thought was the most influential since I've been manager. I didn't know who were in line for the others when I did that," said Dolan.

"When they were announced I was very pleased because all four of them deserved their awards. Of the four I can't remember any one of them missing a training session since I have been here and I'm sure it was the same for the previous manager, way back last August.

"It is nice to see hard working, dedicated players being rewarded. They put the effort in throughout the year and that is why they are the most consistent performers. The whole squad is made up of good footballers but it shows that even those with natural talent will still benefit from doing the leg-work."

Dolan has instructed his players to report back from their summer break on July 5 so they can begin the pre-season training schedule.

"It might sound soon but it's only the middle of May, there are still five or six weeks before we come back in," added former Bantams and Hull manager Dolan.

"We are all glad of the break but in three or four weeks' time we will all be wishing the new season arrives. It's always the same, you soon start missing the game."
