Paul White has called it a day as Clayton coach to concentrate on his Super League ambitions with Wakefield Wildcats.
Club chairman Dave Pickthall has moved quickly to appoint former Sheffield Eagles prop forward Johnny Bruce as White's successor.
Bruce will have former Leeds and Bradford Northern legend Brendan Hill as his assistant.
Pickthall said: "Paul has done a super job for us, which we greatly appreciate, and we are very sorry to see him leave.
"However, we must now look to the forthcoming season, with training resuming on June 26."
