Following the disappointment of Bradford Park Avenue's UniBond League play-off semi-final defeat at Eastwood Town, the club's under-19s performed heroics to win the League Cup.
After dispatching Yorkshire Amateur, much-fancied Goole and Armthorpe Welfare in the earlier rounds and then local rivals Guiseley in the semi-final, Avenue faced Selby Town in the final at Cougar Park, Keighley. They opened the scoring through Matt Hallam and doubled their lead before half-time with a superb 35-yard chip from Craig Thompson.
Luke Gibson sealed victory after the break with an angled left-foot shot.
Manager Mick Couzens said: "I went to watch Selby twice, saw their strengths and came up with a game plan. All the credit goes to the players who implemented the tactics."
