FC HALIFAX Town have parted company with manager Neil Aspin.
The Shaymen, who lost 2-1 at Guiseley on Tuesday, are second from bottom in Vanarama National League with just one win and two draws from their ten matches but the club cite "indifferent results stretching back to February 2015" as the reason for their decision.
Neverthleless, the club have placed on record their sincere thanks to Aspin, who has been at The Shay for six seasons, for his contribution to their "great success over the last few seasons".
It added: "The board and everyone involved with the club, wish Neil every success in the future. We are sure he will be back in football very quickly."
The 50-year-old played over 200 games for Leeds United between 1982 and 1989 before joining, in turn, Port Vale, Darlington, Hartlepool, Harrogate Town and FC Halifax Town, and he made two appearances for the Shaymen in 2009 when he came out of retirement.
Aspin gained promotion in his first three seasons with the Shaymen, taking them from the Northern Premier League to the Conference Premier, where they reached the play-off in 2013-14.
However, after a great start to last season, FC Halifax Town winning five of their six games in August, their challenge faded away and they finished the campaign in ninth.
Applications to be first-team manager at The Shay should be sent, along with a cv, to louisa.inspire.engage@gmail.com.
