GUISELEY have followed up confirmation of a home pre-season friendly against Bradford City with more good news after the National League’s annual meeting.
The Lions’ promotion to what was formerly the Football Conference was ratified at Celtic Manor.
Guiseley also picked up an award, which came with a £5,000 prize, and had three players in the Conference North 2014-15 team of the year.
The versatile Jake Lawlor, who also picked up the club’s supporters’ and players’ awards, was joined in the divisional team of the year by former Norwich City forward Oli Johnson and the Lions’ assistant player-manager Danny Boshell.
In what was the inaugural Football Conference Trust Community Awards, Guiseley picked up one of the seven categories, with the money going towards their foundation work that went with the accolade.
They won the Best Player Involvement category, with centre back Danny Ellis’ work with the club’s academy being cited, along with the efforts of three of Guiseley’s young players.
Ben Walker, Redmond Lee and Luke Porritt have all come through the youth system at Nethermoor, and they were commended for running half- term coaching camps for children who are at schools in the area.
