ANDY Town wants his Bradford Amateur Strokeplay Championship title to be the start of an all-conquering year for Bingley St Ives.
The 29-year-old claimed his second Amateur crown at Northcliffe thanks to a level-par finish following rounds of 70 and 72.
And the former professional believes his club are capable of sweeping the board in district competitions.
He said: "We're trying to win everything and we've a good enough team to do it.
"Me, Dane Bairstow, Terry Brushwood and Jack Laybourne want to win everything."
Bingley are the reigning Scratch League champions – though they have started slowly this campaign – while St Ives member Darryl Berry, who was fourth at Northcliffe, is the current Bradford Open title-holder.
In difficult, windy conditions Town was the only player not to shoot over par as he finished three shots clear of Ilkley's Jack Lampkin and Shipley's Will Whiteoak.
Lampkin, who continued his good form on the back of his Hawksworth Trophy success at Bradford Golf Club the previous weekend, edged the runners-up spot courtesy of his second-round 70.
It was a day for steady rather than spectacular golf and Town kept his mistakes to a minimum on a course where he played for 12 years and learned as a junior.
Five birdies (at the first, seventh, 12th, 15th and 16th) were mixed with four bogeys in a one-under par morning round. He then got his second 18 holes off to a flier with three birdies in the first four but five dropped shots and just one more birdie (at the 11th) saw him card a one-over 72.
He said: "I didn't do a lot wrong. The greens were fast, it was gusty and there were some tricky pin positions but I was surprised at the scoring as I didn't think it was that hard.
"There was nothing much exciting in my rounds, I just played solidly."
Now Town, whose first Amateur title came at Skipton in 2010, has his sights on claiming a rare double in next month's Bradford Open at Keighley.
Whiteoak, Rob Hillas, Phil Wood and Martin Foster are the only others to have accomplished it and Town, who had a spell playing on the EuroPro Tour, said: "It's not been done by many and it would be massive to achieve that.
"I play twice a week now and it's just nice to win something. Hopefully, I can get to plus two or three where I used to be."
Before that, the Sandy Lane-based plus one handicapper will feature in the Pannal Rose Bowl next Wednesday.
