PHIL Parkinson this morning broke his silence over the Sheffield United link and stressed he was ploughing on with his summer plans with City.
The Bantams chief has kept a low profile during the Blades’ search for a new boss, which is set to end this morning with the appointment of Nigel Adkins.
Sheffield United had last week asked to speak to Parkinson about the vacancy but their approach was blocked by joint-chairmen Julian Rhodes and Mark Lawn.
Parkinson today told the T&A: “Julian and Mark have kept me informed all along about Sheffield United’s interest in the middle of a difficult week for the club with the takeover situation.
“There was an approach but it didn’t go any further than that and we’ve been liaising every day about plans going forward now the takeover looks like it’s not going to happen.”
Parkinson also confirmed he plans to “touch base” with Jon Stead over the next couple of days.
