VALLEY Parade is stripped and ready for action as the pitch improvements get well under way.
Specialist machinery got to work at City to improve a playing surface that came in for heavy criticism last season.
The top level of the pitch has been shaved off – a process known as koroing – to get rid of the thatch. More than 200 tonnes of fibre sand will also be laid.
Drainage repairs are taking place in two areas that have been heavily hit.
