BAILDON Trinity Athletic have been promoted from Division Two of the West Yorkshire League.
They hosted Rothwell Town, with Baildon needing a win but Town only needing a draw to clinch third place.
However, Athletic won 4-1, with captain Lee Newall crossing for man of the match Elliott Moody to head them in front after only two minutes.
Ben Craven then latched onto a through ball and slotted his shot under the advancing goalkeeper to leave the half-time score at 2-0.
Craven scored again to make it a healthy lead, only for Rothwell to reduce the arrears.
But Baildon had the last word when Danny Milner found himself unmarked at the far post and drove a shot home.
Baildon's manager Carl Dalton said: "It has been a long but successful season.
"We reached the Wharfedale & District Cup final, losing 2-0 to Ilkley Town, but bounced back to secure promotion in our last match of the season."
