TERRY Marflitt Trophy winners Grangefield Old Boys have become the only side to lower the colours of Premier Division champions Ealandians in the Yorkshire Amateur League.

The fourth-placed hosts made it three successive wins to end their season but were given a half-time rocket by manager Wayne Barlow after a sloppy 45 minutes in their 20th and last league match of the campaign.

Grangefield's reaction was immediate but it did not stop them falling 1-0 behind when unmarked central defender Matty Parker volleyed home Jacob Driver's 65th-minute cross.

However, former Bantams youth player Richie Banks levelled in the 80th minute before Grant Jackson converted a late penalty, meaning that Ealandians only won the title by a point from Farsley Celtic Juniors.

St Bede's, who won three straight away matches to save themselves from relegation in Division One, made it four in a row with a 2-0 triumph at weary Hancock Cup winners Grangefield Old Boys Reserves.

Nathan Bailey followed up his five goals in a 6-3 victory at Almondburians with a brace against eighth-placed Grangefield to leave St Bede's fourth from bottom.

But there was no joy for St Bede's Reserves, whose 5-1 defeat at Old Batelians Reserves confirmed their demotion from Division Two.

Anthony Garner got the consolation for Bede's, who were 1-1 after 70 minutes against opponents who ended the season with a run of seven unbeaten matches.

Fifth-placed Batelians' goals came from Jamie Ingham (2), leading scorer Jamie Smith, Ash Fallas and Stefan Godbold.

Farnley Sports became only the second team to go through a 22-match Yorkshire Amateur League season unbeaten when they saw off third-placed visitors Beeston Old Boys 4-0 in the Championship Division.

The match was won in the first half via a hat-trick by Sports' leading marksman Adam Butterworth, including an initial penalty.

Andy Punter made it 4-0 on the hour as Sports equalled the invincibles feat of Leeds College in the mid-1960s.
